A Good Day For Kratom WarriorsAdmin
“…the Ohio State Board of Pharmacy heard the voices of 22,765 kratom users…”
A Winning Battle
It goes without saying that the fight to keep kratom legal has been complex and tiring with one complication after another, we can say with certainty that one battle has been won. On Tuesday, October 23rd, the Ohio State Board of Pharmacy heard the voices of 22,765 kratom users, including about 3000 Ohio citizens, who signed the petition asking the Board of Pharmacy to rescind its recommendation to move kratom to a Schedule I classification, effectively banning it. Such a decision, once made, might prove incredibly difficult to reverse.
The State Board of Pharmacy seldom, if ever, receives such an outcry from consumers, and the message was not lost on the board members. Aside from the petition, the American Kratom Association posted over 5000 comments during the open official comment period. These messages will also be reviewed by the board.
FDA Claims VS. Scientific Reasoning: A Video Review
Because of this unexpected response, the battle to keep kratom legal is now receiving media attention. Check out this video for a breakdown of the FDA strategy to ban kratom state-by-state:
The Information Age
We are living in the Information Age, meaning that we have the option of not being left in the dark to blindly accept what we’re told. We have a world of information at our fingertips and it is crucial that we use it correctly and to our advantage. We will not lose this safe and effective medication that is indispensable to many, and we will not be told that it is dangerous when the science says that this simply isn’t so.
A Positive Outcome
The American Kratom Association would also like to thank everyone who participated in the first annual Save Kratom Legislative Drop-In Day last Friday. While information is still being gathered from participants, and a more detailed report is expected soon, please know that it was a success. Social media has been flooded with kratom warriors posting pictures from their visits to their local Congressional offices.
A little over a week ago, a generous kratom supporter committed to a matching donation drive to protect kratom. This battle is becoming more and more expensive and complicated as the FDA expands its campaign against kratom, a campaign that is based on misinformation. But thanks to the efforts of those of you who banded together, and to our anonymous donor, we can now hire scientific experts and lobbyists of our own to fight back. We would like to extend a huge thank you, to all kratom supporters, for the overwhelming response!
We will continue the fight to protect kratom. This fight is personal to millions of people in this country alone who use kratom to treat anxiety, insomnia, chronic pain, fatigue, and 1000 other maladies.
